Order of Saint Francis
"Preach the Gospel at all times, and if necessary use words."
-St. Francis of Assisi
We are an order of Franciscan brothers and sisters who strive to follow in the footsteps of our seraphic father, Francis of Assisi. We value things such as Christian charity, environmental awareness, personal spirituality, and social justice.

Our Mission
We strive to bring the message of Saint Francis to the world. Spreading the Gospel, using words when necessary. We believe that through our Christian life and our actions, others may be inspired to know the faith of the Church. We minister to those on the margins of society, and those who need it most. Simply, our mission is to serve Christ and His Church by serving those who would otherwise be pushed away. Our call for equality, environmental awareness, non-violence, and service are all hallmarks of our Franciscan way of life.

Brother Mike, O.S.F.
Rev. Fr. Mike Otero-Otero, O.S.F., was professed as a Third Order Franciscan in 1999, and ordained to the priesthood on August 28th, 2004. He lives out the Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis: through humility, service, and solidarity with the poor and suffering. As founding pastor of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Community in Peabody, MA, he has built a ministry marked by simplicity, outreach, and deep compassion.

In the Franciscan tradition of loving all creation, he began the beloved St. Clare Annual Pet Blessing in 2006. His commitment to those on the margins led to the founding of the St. Clare of Assisi Homeless Ministry in 2009, offering personal accompaniment and direct support to those living on the streets. In 2016, he expanded this outreach through The Clare Mission, providing weekly meals for the hungry every Saturday in Peabody. He also serves at Haven from Hunger’s Resource Center and North Shore Community Action Programs, assisting vulnerable individuals in obtaining essential documents such as IDs and Social Security cards, along with assisting unhoused individuals with filling out paperwork which serves as a gateway to receiving temporary housing.

As a CISM-trained chaplain, Brother Mike brings a Franciscan presence to those in crisis. He serves the Peabody Police Department, the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC), and the Massachusetts State Police, offering spiritual support, crisis response, and trauma care to officers and civilians alike.
