Michel Joseph Edmond Pugin, O.S.B.

Bishop Michel J. Pugin, OSB, is a Benedictine Monk and is the founder and first Presiding Bishop of the Catholic Church in America, which is now called the National Catholic Apostolic Church in the United States.

 

Bishop Michel, is a cradle catholic and his love for God and the Church has made him what he is today, a man filled with compassion and love for all of God’s creation. Born and raised in French Canada, in the Province of Quebec.  Bishop Michel holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Philosophy a Master of Divinity and a Licentiate in Theology.  Bishop Michel has been a Benedictine Monk for 48 years, a priest for 44 years and a Bishop for 34.

 

Bishop Michel has been a pastor, professor, chaplain, lecturer and spiritual Director/Counselor. He was also the Director and co-founder of Bruce House, a hospice for AIDS/HIV persons in Ottawa, Canada.

 

Bishop Michel is following the call of the Lord in devoting his God-given energy in promoting peace and harmony. In the last several years he has done so through Temple Adath Or and JAM (promotes peace between Jews, Christians & Muslims).

 

In 2010, Bishop Michel travelled to Haiti after the terrible devastating earthquake to help restore the RENMEN Foundation and to be a spiritual father to the children of that same foundation.

 

In 2016 he returned to Haiti to establish the first Vicariate of the Church and ordained its first priest.
